About GenChemCalc
GenChemCalc is a free set of chemistry calculators and study guides for high school and first-year college students — each tool built around a clear formula and, where it helps, the worked steps.
Why this site exists
Students preparing for exit examinations, university entrance tests or first-year chemistry usually have plenty of textbooks, but few tools that show the formula, do the arithmetic, and explain what is happening at the same time. GenChemCalc aims to fill that gap: enter your numbers, see the answer, and see how it was reached so you can reproduce it on paper.
Who makes it
GenChemCalc is made by Cameron, who has a passion for teaching chemistry and helping students succeed. He is studying for a Professional Bachelor in Chemistry at UC Leuven-Limburg and has experience tutoring secondary and ASO-level mathematics and chemistry. That tutoring is where the site's approach comes from — the calculators are shaped around the steps students actually get stuck on.
The companion workbook
The calculators are paired with the General Chemistry Workbook: 400+ exam-style problems with fully worked examples, two practice exams, a complete answer key and all reference data embedded. If a calculator helps you get an answer, the workbook helps you build the method behind it. You can find it via the links across the site.
How it is funded
The calculators and guides are free. The site is supported by Amazon affiliate links to relevant products and to the workbook — see the affiliate disclosure. These links never change what the tools recommend or how they calculate.
Accuracy
The formulas, constants and reference values used are documented on the methodology page. The tools are for learning and for checking your own working. If you spot an error, please get in touch at [email protected].
